Isn’t it amazing to have your lips encrusted with 126 diamonds? Well, Yes! It happened recently when a pair of luxurious lips earned the glamorous Guinness World Record title for ‘Most valuable lip art.’ These lips valued at 757,975 Australian dollars and was designed by diamond jeweler Rosendorff Diamonds.
The event happened in Perth, Australia, and was organized on 7th September 2018 by Rosendorff to celebrate its 50th anniversary. When they decided to celebrate it in style, this is when they came up with the idea of designing a pair of sensuous lips that could be this much worthy. Craig Rosendorff is a specialist diamond jeweler and founded Rosendorff diamonds in the year 1963.
Designing of the lips
Make-up artist Clare Mac executed the designing of the artwork. She painstakingly did this for two and a half hours work and placed all the diamonds on the model’s lips.
She first applied a layer of black matte lipstick. After this, she used a false eyelash adhesive on lips so that diamonds could be placed in ease. She attached all 126 diamonds slowly and perfectly over the lips.
All 126 diamonds were selected from Rosendorff’s collection. They say it amassed a total carat weight of 22.29ct.
During the show
Now when it comes to expensive jewelry, security comes first. So to protect these costly diamonds (AUD 757,975), which was a high priority, police personnel was on-site to ensure everything is safe and in order in case any trouble comes up.
After the show was done, model Charlie Octavia was taken away to the jeweler’s vault, where Mr. Craig Rosendorff himself removed each diamond very carefully.
The most challenging part during this show was to ensure everybody is following the strict guidelines. It took months to prepare for this event, which undoubtedly was a grand success.
As per the model, it took endless hours of designing, researching, planning, liaising, and trialing to ensure they have qualified for the record. It was, of course, quite challenging for them, but this is what it takes to make a Guinness World Record. It is an honor to be a record holder of Guinness World Records. This show was the most excellent opportunity for them, and they pride themselves on excellence.

On one side, it is luxurious, but it is worth a lifetime experience to achieve such a significant award.
